Like the carolina classic it was named after, the BeauBox packs a punch. Equipped with 9 total drive bays, the BeauBox is ready for future expansion as our users grow, with only 2 of the slots providing our whopping 36TB of raw capacity at launch.
(Real world capacity is closer to ~17TB due to drive mirroring and other safety/redundancy protocols)

By default, your ChonkDrive plan starts at our humble Smol Boi tier. As you grow and utilize your space, we will automatically move you up the tiers as you need them. For power users, you can request a bigger allocation to be provided off the bat.

Absolutely, ChonkDrive is powered by Nextcloud, which has full support for iOS, Android, MacOS, and Windows. The desktop apps support native file access via both Finder and File Explorer, so all your files remain in one place.

Yes! We have redundancy built in from ground zero on all important data stored via ChonkDrive. All drives are mirrored, so if one fails, we have a copy. The BeauBox has backup UPS power for short electrical faults, along with an entire generator if the local power grid faces extended downtime. Your connection during local use is made directly to the BeauBox, and for users outside the local network you are automatically connected using an encrypted P2P connection via a secure VPS.
Nope. Your data is fully private to you, both on the web interface and in the actual BeauBox backend as well. All files are encrypted per user, and only the users have the keys to decrypt their respective data. The only data that can be accessed by others are files you share with others via links or shared folders.
Oh yeah. In some ways, you could argue it is MORE reliable than traditional services as we are independently operating the servers using a very robust system with loads of redundancy (mirrored storage, UPS power backup, generator backup for the grid, and more).
I take the 24/7 operation promise seriously. While we will occasionally have downtime as any service requires for routine work and security updates, I try to do them at hours you aren’t using the service.
